the hotel was a delight to be in for our short stay , with lovely views over the Tyne with very little noise.
would have been helpful if the TV and Radio had better reception with a more up to date set. Also was expecting the price of our breakfast to be inclusive in the overall price we paid., which made it a bit pricey .
Needs updating quickly, does not offer 4 star rooms, possibly only 2 to 3 star would be more acceptible. Other hotels in area are more upto date and offer more for your money. Did not eat at hotel or use gym. Plumbing noisy, wallpaper peeling at corners old fashioned tv (silver surrond) Not as professional photos suggest.
The hotel is in a great location for visiting the city centre and for the county court which is opposite!
It's near a train line so be prepared for some late night noise.
comfort of hotel was really good. central position for rail & shops
Attending a function so only a quick stay but bar was spacious and welcoming with a nice atmosphere lovely warm fire to help the night cap go down .
room bit dark heating not on
exellent location in city, on site parking, clean and comfortable
limited view but fortunately our room on higher level and wasn't overlooking railway
A very nice clean hotel with effecient, friendly staff. Can't really comment on anything else as I arrived, went out drinking on the Toon and woke up naked next to a fat girl. But the hotel was nice.
Staying at the Vermont was nice it was a great location my husband is originally from Newcastle and has stayed at the Vermont on numerous occasions it was my first stay there and was good however I feel the hotel could do with some updating ie decorating and painting now and seems a very dark hotel.
The location was good and check in was very efficient. Quick to respond to my request for an iron and ironing board. Very impressed that they provided free internet access throughout hotel unlike most hotels who really try to rip you off.
Sometimes they appeared under staffed at reception. Had to wait around for ages to ask for a couple of envelopes. The whole place was very dimly lit- the lift, corridors and room. The furniture and fittings were a little dated and looked tired but overall it was good value for money and comfortable.
location close to bridges/river and shops/restaurants. room was comfortable clean and well equipped. Staff were friendly and helpful
room although it overlooked the castle it was noisy from the trains
Excellent position and room very clean and comfortable. Did have worries when reading reviews whether to take a risk but got a good room rate and very pleased overall.
Rooms probably ready for refurb but the positves outway.
Excellent location, comfortable and warm rooms, nice bar
breakfast cost, car park full
easy to find and ideal for shopping great car park
excellent service, as good as the previous owners
